I’m a German exchange student at UTS, and my time here in Sydney has been unforgettable. After the Orientation week, Sydney felt like a place where I could both learn and live fully. The beaches like Bondi and Manly quickly became my go-to spots, whether I wanted to catch some waves, go for a run, sit in a cozy café, or simply hang out with friends. Aside from university, there was also plenty of time to travel around Australia. Here are just two impressions:

Roadtrip in Western Australia

The adventures beyond campus made my time here unforgettable. A major highlight was my trip, together with friends from the university, to Western Australia. Especially Rottnest Island, where I got to meet the friendly quokkas who seemed to smile in selfies. The beaches there, particularly around Esperance, felt like something out of a dream, with white sand and crystal-clear water.

Outdoor Club

Being part of the UTS Outdoor Club has let me explore even more. Hiking and abseiling have been both thrilling and a great way to connect with other students who share the same excitement for adventure. Australia’s mix of beaches, unique wildlife, and incredible scenery makes every trip unforgettable.

Final Thoughts

Studying in Sydney is fantastic! From the beaches and surfing to new friends and travels, every day feels like an adventure. If you’re thinking about studying abroad, I’d say go for it! Sydney has so much to offer, and it’s an experience you’ll never forget.
